Practices In The United Church Of Christ Tempe AZ

By Joyce Bailey

The Christian church refers to groups of people who come together to share the same doctrine or practice. It was formed after the coming together of the disciples of Jesus Christ when He gave them the mandate to spread the good news. This doctrine refers to the beliefs of the people, their norms, values, principles, and in general, how they intend to carry out the many activities or programs in the church. These programs in the United Church of Christ Tempe AZ have been outlined.

For instance, in Sunday services, the leaders have special provisions for the children where they gather to hear the word of God for their spiritual growth and uplifting. They also teach them how to become obedient and responsible children in their homes, schools and the community. The children are also encouraged to attend weekly meetings where they praise and worship God.

Just like the children, the youths also have their special classes and place of worship. Issues discussed in these classes are related to their development into adulthood and most of them include issues on health, career seminars, skills and vocational training, leadership programs and academic counseling. The leaders among them also fix executive meetings where they discuss different views and opinions on how the church will continue to grow spiritually and more effectively.

The elders make up the deacons and deaconesses in the church. These authorities preach the word of God to the members of the congregation, strictly emphasizing on the reasons to be faithful tithers, seed sowers, and sacrificial givers. According to these authorities, believers who honor God with their possessions and abundance attract God's blessings and favor upon their lives.

The church also preaches against immorality and encourages the followers to live in ways that are acceptable to the society. They further assert that in order to become victorious over the hindrances and obstacles of life, they must learn to live holy and turn away from evil ways. They must also behave appropriately in their homes, families and work places.

Regular attendance at church services must be embarked upon by every true worshiper. These believers should voluntarily decide to belong to any section in the ministry. Sections such as the evangelism outreach, music department, the drama group, intercessors group and many others are available. Age should not be considered to be a barrier or hindrance to any interested and willing member. In other words, both the children, teenagers, youths, and parents can willingly participate in any of the areas mentioned above.

While the intercessors are the spiritual warriors of the church, the evangelists work towards spreading the good news to other places or locations. The drama theater comprises people with special skills and talents that are used to influence people's lives. In the music department, people train their voices to edify the congregation during worship. The people who belong to this department are talented singers and dancers, and they promote the gospel of Jesus Christ by singing praises and worship songs.

Every committed Christian and worshiper of Jesus Christ will always succeed in whatever the individual does. For the children, reinforcements such as praises, commendations, gifts, scholarships, money, and other special awards can be specially designed for those who participate actively as a means of encouraging them to grow their faith. God also promises the true believer, both the young and old, an everlasting reward after the judgment on the Last Day.
