JEDDAH: In all likelihood Saudi Master Baker will be the No. 1 following back-to-back Team of the Week victories with a week to go before positioning round in the Thursday Bowling League 14th Season at Bowling City in Sultanah Center.
Saudi Master followed its 34-point Team of the Week-clinching output in the last outing with a rather tame 30, but that was enough to pip BCT-for Yooo in the race for the 18th week honors.
BCT returned 29 points, three ahead of Spike-GBI 26 with Jem Strikers on 23. AL Strikers and Habagat were separated only by half a point on 16.5 and 16 respectively.
The last three teams to check in were Carling Sport Wear 14.5, D’ Barkads 13 and Al Murjana 12.
Team captain Igna Salgado shot the high series of 681 (245, 223, 213) to become the Bowler of the Week as he inspired Saudi Master Baker to another standout performance that saw it accelerate from 4-3-2-1 in three games and overall output.
Gerry Mandanas and Bandr Al Dosary rolled 569 and 553 to back up Salgado, while Mohd. Al Amri, Rey Feliciano and Jowett Carrion each added two games of 181-222, 190-224 and 223-206.
BCT used a six-man rotation, led by the duo of Jimmy Urbano and Paul Antiporda on 651 and 618. Alex Flora just missed 600 with his 599 card while Yasser Hokbi added 212-234 and Nanding Siasoco 169-201.
At Spike the trio of Nezar Al Hamwe, Rey Beltran and Ding dela Rosa showed the way on 680, 608 and 594. Sharing two games each were Fadi Al Hadad 192-180, Tope Sayson 185-168 and Ruben Grino 171-209.
Jem had Paolo Allego at the helm of a five-man rotation on 647 followed by Efren San Pedro 613, Jeff San Pedro 609, Mike Tambasin 576 and Rolly Vistal 554.
AL Strikers also kept faith in a single set of five players namely Jack Jarin 630, Cesar Monares 612, Melo 573, Cesar Pagtalunan 555 and Ally Bin 535.
