“This unity also reflects our strong commitment to Islamic Shariah,” Prince Salman said while addressing senior military commanders and retired officers.
Prince Salman commended the services rendered by the retired officers. “We are all proud of serving this country, the place that received divine revelation and the direction to which Muslims all over the world turn during prayer,” he added.
The crown prince thanked God for His great blessings on the Kingdom and its people, especially for the blessing of peace and security.
“I am happy to know that there are retired military officers from different parts of the Kingdom,” the crown prince said and urged the retired officers to be ready to serve whenever required.
“I request you to feel that you are still on official duty. If we require your service at any time, you are close to us and our doors at the ministry are open to you and for your views,” he said.
Maj. Gen. Zaal Al-Balawi, commander of the Western Region, congratulated Prince Salman on his new appointment and commended his statesmanship and humanitarian services.
Prince Salman also met with the newly appointed Riyadh Mayor Abdullah Al-Muqbil and wished him every success. The mayor said he was happy over receiving the royal confidence and prayed to the Almighty to help him shoulder his responsibilities in the best manner.
