RIYADH: Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman has said that sports clubs should have their own income plan to carry out their activities without depending on donations.
Addressing the members of Al-Ansar and Uhud Clubs in Madinah last week, Prince Faisal said that these clubs are community-based organizations that help their members to be healthy and happy in the society.
On arrival at the club, the prince was received by Club President Ahmed Khawaja and Chairman of the Board Saud Al-Harbi .
The governor further said the role of the clubs in society is well known. “ They help people develop their skills and understand one another well in times of victories and defeats.”
He said the young people must have the spirit of competition and the desire for better access to the national and regional level and hold on to become the best in sports at national and global levels.
Enlightening the audience on the role of the clubs, the prince also pointed out that there are no obstacles in developing sports in the Kingdom since businessmen and officials offer their cooperation to develop sports in Madinah.
He also asserted the importance of strengthening the role of sports programs and activities in the region by engaging in the development and refinement of sporting talents in all areas.
He urged the employees of the clubs to redouble their efforts to promote such organizations to carry out their recreational activities.
President of the Ansar Club Ahmed Khawaja expressed his deep appreciation to the governor for his material and moral support that helped the clubs in the region to forge ahead.
Saud Al-Harbi said the visit came within the framework of continuing support to all sports activities in the region.
