The children get to interact with other kids during song plays and this enables them to know how to work as a team. This promotes teamwork and social skills.

General oral language skills are improved through memorizing of songs. It becomes easier for these children to learn how speak when they listen and sing the musicals. This enables them to have many to express themselves enabling them know how to spell and read in school. Their love for the language develops and communication skills are improved as they grow up.

Critical listening skills are able to be developed when learning them. This mostly involves listening and hence as they listen to the songs being taught they are able to develop the listening skills. The skills developed not only help them to learn the compositions but also are useful in future. Therefore, the general literacy of the children is greatly enhanced by studying songs.

Finally, there are no downsides to teaching songs to kids hence there is no harm in bringing music and kids together. They get to have fun, develop language and social skills and enhance mental development among many other many benefits.
