Bullying Prevention Once And For All

By Virginia Roberts

Although there are programs to prevent bullies, unfortunately they still exist. However, these days, teachers and parents have been made more aware of the signs and symptoms with the use of workshops in schools. This is something that is necessary regarding bullying prevention because for a child it can be emotionally draining.

It is easy for other children to get hold of social media accounts and impersonate their peers. They are able to make comments about them which simply are not true. This can be humiliating, and is often worse than the physical abuse because everyone in the school starts to find out about this sort of abuse.

They will easily impersonate them and this is how rumors spread. It can lead to a lot of trauma in their life when it is not dealt with. Often, children do not confront parents or teachers because they are embarrassed. They dread going to school. They don't want to go onto the internet anymore. They also start to become victims of cell phone abuse.

Parents need to be aware of the signs and symptoms. These days, teachers are more aware of what is going on. They have been trained to know what to look out for. Often a child will not be performing well in school. Their behavior will have changed. They may start to become isolated.

One may want to send a child like this to a psychologist who knows how to deal with the problem. They have seen many other kids who have been bullied and work with them in stages. Counseling is very important because at this time children will suffer from a low self esteem. If this is not dealt with, they will suffer later on in their adult life.

When a parent is asking them about their day, about the teachers and about the kids, then the child will want to develop a bond with the parent. They may then want to disclose information. This is when parents need to be able to listen, understand and be compassionate. They need to keep their anger away at a time like this.

Sending children to a professional psychologist is a good idea because they have been trained to know how to deal with a situation like this. At this time, these kids will be suffering from a low confidence level. They will lack self esteem. This is something that they have to build upon. A good psychologist will be able to help with this, and this is a process.

Parents who have lost a child as a result of bullying, often take action. This comes in the form of talking to other kids in schools. It can be helpful to those who have been bullied at the time. It can also shed light on the bullies. They often are not aware of the impact that they are causing on the kids as well as on the families. This makes them think twice. Parents also need to communicate with their children and ask them more about what is going on in their life.
